Marci Gordon, Board President
I am a long-time member of Central Presbyterian and I have taught Sunday school for both adults and children; I have served as an elder and I sing in the choir. I currently teach as a substitute in the 4j schools, but I have taught English and writing at the college level as well. I have three daughters (all of whom had weddings in the past year) and my husband is a semi-retired physician.
I have been a supporter of the Koinonia Center for many years and have served on the board since 2010.
I too attended the University of Oregon receiving my Bachelors Degree in 1975, my Masters Degree in 1979, and completing the Oregon Schools Administrator Certification Program in 1990. I am now a retired Oregon Public School Educator and my wife and I live across the river in Springfield. We delight in seeing students grow into confident adults as they navigate the “Ivory Halls” of the University of Oregon, and are thankful for the part the Koinonia Center plays in this process.
Welcome to the Koinonia Center. I am sure you will enjoy your time here. Go Ducks!
Trevor Whitbread, Board Member
In 2005, I packed up my room in Eastern Oregon and moved west to Eugene to begin my studies at the UO. After completing a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies, I decided to come back for more and completed an M.A. in Spanish Literature in 2012. Eugene is a wonderful place to grow, explore, meet new people and be part of a faith community. I participated in the Koinonia Center ministry as an undergraduate and graduate student and found the experience to be enriching, spiritually satisfying, and fun!
